Selected for the 2012 Best of Atlanta Award in the
Community Churches category by the Atlanta Award Program
Welcome to the Salt and Light Ministries Web site. Our mission is to provide an online church that is available free of charge 24/7. We are not affiliated with any denominations. We pledge allegiance only to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. At this site, you will discover a church that is not “church as usual” or “religion incorporated”. We ignore denominational teachings because we consider them to be divisive and not in the best interest of this church. Most important of all, there is never any hate published on this site, nor will any ever be condoned. I refuse to preach one doctrine or church over another. I only preach about the saving power of Jesus Christ, the immorality of warfare and inequality, and about 21st century civil rights issues such as the right to full employment, higher education and quality health care without qualification, and a living wage of $14.00 an hour.
Now you can go to church, spend some quiet time in prayer and meditation, or tap into a little Spiritual wisdom without having to leave home. But equally important is the fact that this is a Progressive Christian website, which means that I teach complete faith and trust in Christ from a modern perspective without the encumberences of traditional dogma. Progressive Christianity also means that Christian faith plus anti-war and human rights activism go hand in hand. Under no circumstances will this church have anything to do with conservatism and right-wing political activity, since these are the complete antithesis of Christ and His ministry.
Salt and Light Ministries Receives 2012
Best of Atlanta Award
ATLANTA October 3, 2012 -- Pastor Paul J. Bern -- Salt and Light Ministries -- has been selected for the 2012 Best of Atlanta Award in the Community Churches category by the Atlanta Award Program. Each year, the Atlanta Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Atlanta area a great place to live, work and play.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2012 Atlanta Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Atlanta Award Program and data provided by third parties. The Atlanta Award Program is an annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses throughout the Atlanta area. Recognition is given to those companies that have shown the ability to use their best practices and implemented programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value.
Be sure and visit the Books and Donations Page. I offer timely and riveting nonfiction about world peace, civil rights and human rights issues, as well as making a firm stand against injustice and inequality. I urge those who are able to send a donation to help keep this site online and to keep groceries in our pantry. We are also in need of a dependable used vehicle that can carry people or cargo, such as a station wagon or minivan. Anyone who can assist should please contact us directly at 404-849-5486 or by e-mail. Thanks so much.
